My thoughts & advice on wedding trends
Trends are wildly important in every industry right now, it seems - social media trends, industry trends, vocabulary trends… Social media is the crowded ballroom, alive with the rhythm of viral sounds, bomb-ass photos and shifting palettes—a dizzying, intoxicating experience. You might find yourself at the center of it all, the spotlight shining brightly as you wonder, “WHAT SHOULD I WEAR? What style do I love and loves me back? What colors should I choose for my wedding colors? How do I decorate for this once-in-a-lifetime celebration? I don’t want to regret anything but I also want to impress my friends and family” Pressure may start building up, you may not know which trends you should/shouldn’t follow; which ones are right for you; which ones are JUST trends and which ones will actually stick, or if any of that shit even matters.
But let’s pause for a moment and ponder: does every single wedding need to conform to the rigid framework of what’s deemed "timeless"? Is there an invisible Wedding Police who decides what can or cannot be a part of your story? And let’s be real—do you really want to look back in 50 years at your wedding album and only feel nostalgia for an unattainable ideal? Perhaps you’ll admire the elegance of those olive green drapey backdrops, or chuckle at the styles of the 2020s and find JOY in your choices instead of regret. Bottom line is, you cant worry about something that may or may not happen...
Here’s the truth: a wedding is not a museum exhibit; it’s more like a canvas just waiting for your brushstrokes. Each detail is a reflection of who you are IN THAT MOMENT. What if, instead of fretting over the trendy versus timeless debate, you simply embraced the authenticity of your own voice?
This message is especially for the dreamers and the anti-brides who love to be different and put their own flavor into everything they do and are not afraid to be themselves OUT LOUD... You, who relish the idea of breaking free from the mold and expressing yourself in whatever way feels right. There’s a certain magic in being different, isn't there? And as you traverse the winding path of wedding planning, I’m here to guide you, help you and support you. Styling is part of what I do. I will always make time to be available to hop on a call and help you make up your mind about which trendy (or not trendy) accessory or color combination you are wanting is gonna photograph best.
The wedding planning process can be so much fun as long as you keep an open mind and are not afraid of being yourself.
So breathe deeply. Let your spirit fly free. Long after the cake has been eaten and the last dance has faded into memory, your wedding album will stand as a testament to your individuality and joy on your wedding day.
